There are many sites in Fife that I would class as a ‘Happy Place‘, places that just relax me totally. One such place is the Balgonie Bleachfield Project just outside Glenrothes.

Thank you Julie 🙂 During the summer it is full of wild flowers and a myriad of insects. You can read a wee bit more about the place on a post I did earlier this summer.

How beautiful! I didn’t know about this project. A great example of turning an industrial site into something wonderful for wildlife!

They have done a fantastic job with the old bleach-works/landfill. It’s only a fairly small site, but well worth a visit, especially during the spring and summer, it’s teeming with wildlife 🙂

It does look like a ‘happy place’ even with those clouds. I love the color blue in that Meadow Cranesbill. It’s very sharp too. How big is the flower?

It certainly is one of my favourite places in spring and early summer. The Meadow Cranesbill is about 3 or 4cm in diameter 🙂

Lovely photos. I would find this a happy place as well. As a teen, I lived in the country and enjoyed walking thru the fields. 😉

Thank you Jane 🙂 It is an amazing place, it used to be an actual bleach works until 1957, and then a landfill site. I describe a bit about it in this post

Thank’s Julie 🙂 It seems like such a long time ago that we had such dry and sunny warm days! Lol! It is beautiful down there during the spring and summer, it’s the closest thing that Fife has got to chalk downland – the one thing I really miss from my time spent living in Surrey back in the 80’s and 90’s.
