As part of this weeks Cee’s Fun Photo Challenge : Orange & Green, I’ve posted eight more photos taken from Balbirnie Park, near Glenrothes. The photographs were all taken just after dawn, at the beginning of this month, on a day which started quite misty (well foggy very first thing – see last photo), but gradually turned sunny.

Those are wonderful, Andy – the first one especially. Sometimes autumn colours look better through mist. Really atmospheric!

Stunning colors! The wind blew all of our color away just as soon as everything was exploding in brilliant golds, reds and oranges. I’ll just enjoy your images instead! Nice work, Andy.

Thanks. With no deciduous trees on the island seeing the autumn colours is much appreciated. I particularly liked the early morning mist, but thanks for them all.

I know what you mean about the lack of deciduous trees, having lived in West Cornwall for a long time, it makes me extra appreciative of the Autumn colours 🙂 And Tiree is a more extreme version of that, and from what I’ve seen from your blog, just as beautiful 🙂

A lovley post, Andy – your photos are wonderful. I see what you mean about fog rather than mist in that last photo. The autumn colours in the other photos are stll beautifully vivid – so different to around here. There was no colour left on the tree in our lanes when I was out this morning. A couple of days of gales followed by two days of hard frosts got rid of what was left on the trees. It llooks so bleak and bare now. 🙂

Thank you Millie 🙂 Most of our leaves have gone now, and we didn’t get the gales like you had, so I’m not surprised the trees are set to winter mode with you 🙂 Mind you, I quite like that bleak look.

Bleak can look very dramatic ad has its own appeal. But I do love the winter trees when the glisten with the frost, or when they’re covered in snow. 🙂

Well, I’d love it to snow in time for Christmas, but after that it can tootle off again. Two of my sons and one of my daughters drive to work and I really don’t like the thought of that in snow and ice. 🙂
