In response to this weeks ‘Weekly Photographic Challenge – Trio‘, I’m posting seven wild flower ‘trios’ all taken around Fife in the last few months. The Iris flower head was growing in the wild, but is a garden escapee.

Stunning shots of all these beauties Andy! You have an excellent eye for the beauty of nature. 😀

All the images are lovely but I especially like that final shot of the orchids.

Thanks Laura 🙂 I’ve been amazed at the quantity of orchids growing up here, I thought Scotland may have been too cold for them!! LOL!

I get the feeling that orchids like a challenge. We had quite a variety of wild orchids in Argyll.

They certainly seem to 🙂 I was amazed to discover that Skye has at least 20 species of wild orchid, and that’s quite close to Argyll 🙂

My favourite is the blackberry ‘nests’ 🙂

Thanks Helen, that was my favourite too. I’d never noticed the way blackberries sat in a ‘nest’ when they are young, till this year.

Thank you Sherrill 🙂 I’m not sure what young blackberries are really called, the nest bit was my idea.

Beautiful flowers! I love the ant on the Birdsfoot Trefoil. You captured that so well.

Thanks Millie 🙂 And thankfully the ant was the main reason I took the photo. There have been a few occasions whilst photographing flowers I’ve not noticed a small beetle or fly until I’ve got home, as in the Iris photo!!

Well, the ant posed very nicely for you while you took his photo. I hope he appreciates your skills. 🙂
